Ema Dantas
CEO | COO | Strategic Advisor

I am a Portuguese-Canadian entrepreneur, author, and executive coach with two decades of experience building and scaling a service-based business from the ground up.
In 2000, I founded Language Marketplace from my basement apartment while a single mother, growing it debt-free into one of Canada’s largest privately owned translation and interpretation companies, with more than $3.5 million in annual revenue, a staff of 24, and a network of 1,500 freelancers.
I was named one of Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneurs in 2012 and placed on the Profit 500 list of Canada’s Fastest Growing Companies in 2013. I sold Language Marketplace in 2022 and served as VP of Interpretation Solutions until December 2023.
Beyond business, I am one of a small handful of people worldwide to complete both the Messner and Bass versions of the Seven Summits challenge, summiting Everest in 2022.
My book, Mental Mountains, chronicles that journey and my advocacy for mental health, which I continue through the Peaks for Change Foundation.
Today, I bring this blend of entrepreneurial rigour, resilience, and leadership to fractional CEO, consulting, coaching, and speaking engagements, helping business owners, especially in the language services industry, grow and adapt in the age of AI.
